How OnlyLocals works
What is OnlyLocals?
OnlyLocals is a place-based professional network. Discover local events, meet the professionals around you, connect, and grow — starting in Katy–Cypress and expanding to new cities as demand grows.
How do I claim my profile?
If you were part of the founding community, we may have already created a profile for you. Find your name on the Locals page and tap Claim profile (or use the private link we sent you). You verify it is you, and it becomes yours to edit.
How does connecting work?
Tap Connect on someone's profile to send a request. They will see it under Connections, where they can accept or decline. Once accepted, you are connected and both of you earn Social IQ.
Events, tickets, and online events
RSVP to free events with one tap. Paid events use secure Stripe checkout, and you get a QR ticket the host scans at the door. For online events, once you are registered you get a Join link (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) right on the event page. You can filter events by in person or online.
Is my location private?
Yes. If you share your location we store only approximate coordinates, privately, to show what is near you. Other members never see your address or exact location — just an approximate distance. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What is Social IQ?
Social IQ is your networking score. It goes up as you show up and engage with the community, and it earns you a status tier as it climbs. Here is what each action is worth:
